wtb ac vent bearing??

Hi everyone,
I am looking for the bearing? that is attached to the rear side of the cowling that the ac cowling vent fits into. I just built from scatch a factory ac system for my 70 c-10 but recently found out(via the shop manual) that there is appearently a bearing or bushing that the ac cowl vent rotates on. Any info or the actual part would be very helpful.

thanks so much,
mongo1957

Re: wtb ac vent bearing??

hey muddyhole 69
thanks for your input. does sound like a muffler bearing doesn't it?? probably have to remove it with a "left handed bolt stretcher"!! all kidding aside i'll pick up my 1970 c-10 shop manual from my workshop today and scan the picture for posting(unfortunately the shop manual's line drawing is small and not too descriptive.

thanks again, mongo1957

Re: wtb ac vent bearing??

I have a couple. You are talking about the little white plastic piece that the shaft of the flapper door goes into (in the cowl) right?

Give me your address and I will drop one in the mail....

Re: wtb ac vent bearing??

John,
Thanks for your reply. The piece i'm looking for is on the cab side of the cowl(not the 3 hole piece on the firewall). The PIN of the vent fits into it(at least thats how it appears in the shop manual). It probably is attached behind the glovebox. If thats what you have my address is:
john carpenter

worthgington,ohio 43085

THANKS,JOHN

Re: wtb ac vent bearing??

Yup, I have one or two of those in my parts bin. It is a little plastic piece that you put into the hole behind the glovebox.

Will get one of those in the mail Tonight/Wed morning!!

Re: wtb ac vent bearing??

Would this be what you are looking for???
The plastic part goes in from the engine side of the cowl, and the nut goes on the glovebox side.
