Try again---WTB METAL Headlight Bezels '79

Sorry about the issue before......I was a supporter from before, guess it got lost somewhere. No worries, reconfirmed my commitment to the site by sending money again. Anyways....

Tired of messing with the plastic pieces from LMC, if anyone responded before please repost.

Looking for metal bezels for the '79 in good shape. Thanks.

Re: Try again---WTB METAL Headlight Bezels '79

Um. I have a pair back home in KY. I'm not exactly certain what shape they are in. They are off of my crewcab and think they may be decent... I cant get a picture because I am in Pensacola, but if you can, go to my myspace link in my sig and go into the pics section and you can see one of the bezels, if those are the ones you want. I wanna switch to a '81 up front clip.

Re: Try again---WTB METAL Headlight Bezels '79

Thanks...

Can't get the larger picture to show up, but does it have the bezels that include the parking lights? In the picture they look to go from the headlight to the grill, like a 73-78. Just curious. If they are indeed the full square bezels that include the parking lights....and are metal... I'd be interested. LMK!

I have a couple of 79 K5's and i think i might have a spare set stashed in the back of one of the parts K5's. I'm currently in the patch for a couple of weeks. I'll take a look next time i get home.

I know what you mean about those plastic repops from LMC...won't do that again....

Re: Try again---WTB METAL Headlight Bezels '79

No. Seems these are just the ones that house the round headlights, and has the marker lights below them in the sheetmetal part. So I dont think they are the ones you need. Plus the one picture of my truck I have, doesnt show it, the left side is taken out inside the truck and the pic was taken from the left 3/4 view. Sorry couldnt help

Re: Try again---WTB METAL Headlight Bezels '79

Crank...79 and 80 only headlight bezels were 1 model year only items which makes them a little harder to come by. I think LMC's plastic version was a low cost problem solver. The 79 bezel did carry over into the 80 model year as i have been fooled one to many times guessing said truck was a 79 but was really an 80. The front valance panel on the 79's also had a unique trim piece to complete the square effect of the bezel encompassing the parking lights.

I'd still like to know why a one year item ended up on an 80 truck....

I'll look at my storage unit as well. I had some factory ones in there from when I swapped the front trim to the earlier model.

Do you mean aftermarket or factory? The round "79" bezels were used on the lower trim level trucks for 1980... as a matter of fact, I think Silverado and Special Editions were the only trucks to get the dual square bezels. The below-grill trim is also the same on said trucks with the "1979" bezels.

And I also agree with ^^^^ that LMC is prolly too cheap to wanna deal with real metal reproductinos for a 1-2 model years.

I'm going to the boneyard this Saturday. I'll look around. And, I just got a 79 K20 that I'll likely be parting out. I'll let you know.
