Tray behind seat

My 73 3/4 c20 has a stiff cardboard tray behind the seat that has seen better days. Are there any aftermarket replacements- or NOS anywhere?

Thanks,

EdPDX

Re: Tray behind seat

Mine did. Alot of PO have ditched them. Anytime something spills back there like oil, tranny fluid etc. it's shot so it gets tossed. I've not found a replacement yet either for it but I would prefer something more durable like plastic and easy clean up.

Re: Tray behind seat

Yeah... now that you mention it... my old man does like to tell a bar story of tossing his cookes all over the floor and pulling the seat out to hose everything

I dunno, I'll ask him in the morning. It IS a base model with no interior in it, mine just mighta came sans thingiemabob.

Re: Tray behind seat

yes sir they did have them. My 85 silverado still has it, my 84 silverado some one took it out ,and the 84 custem delux at our school that is so base model (it does not even have a radio) has one. Mine in the 85 is made from cardboard and is ripped. Thing is they just doen't hold up. I saw them in an lmc catilog once (prob still in there) They were like 150.00 or somthing!!!! i also know jc whitney makes or rather sells somthing that is similar to it and is made from plastic. also DEEZEEE makes one too. Good luck with the hunt. Like i said i would get a new one but it is just not worth the price to me.

Re: Tray behind seat

My silverado had one until I pulled it out and threw it away a couple of years ago. It was in good shape, but just in the way.

Re: Tray behind seat

my 82 had on, but the PO built a wood box that was much stronger and better for storing things. My 87 still have the original and has seen better days.

It's funny you say that cuz i riped mine out when my truck was like two weeks old and tossed it so that i could install my 6x9 speakers upright in the corners of the cab and it was in the way.

Re: Tray behind seat

Pitched the card board thing a long time ago and carpeted the whole thing, all the way up to the metal pice behind the seat/under the window.
