wishful hoping???

This may seem like a dumb question however,,,,is there anywhere where you can still buy "G.M." exterior sheetmetal for say a 73-79 chevy/gmc truck??? I really don't like alot of the aftermarket stuff thats out there. Is there anyone having good luck with a certain brand of aftermarket???

Re: wishful hoping???

Good Mark sells the GM certified peices, thats as close to the OE stuff as you can get. I know a few years ago (10) one of the dealerships here in town shiz can'd enough new body parts for our trucks to actually build about 20. Too bad I didnt know about it at the time.

Re: wishful hoping???

I would only buy GM pieces...period. You can find them quite often on Ebay, here, and I see them on Craigslist from time to time. Every aftermarket piece I have purchased has turned out to be more hassle than it's worth. While even GM pieces aren't perfect, they are made better and fit better with less work when compared to aftermarket pieces...certified or not.

Thats kind of what i was thinking ,,,not sure though my friend is a body man and he states there really is no comparison betwen gm and aftermarket,,,my only prob is finding the stuff???? I also know LMC clearly states that their sheetmetal is made overseas?????
