tuning a 383
finally got my gm 375hp 383 tuned for 87 octane man did i lose power going for 3.54 gears and hopefully keeping the posi this weekend maybe help with mileage enought to run premium and get all my power back. i just got done getting my truck to quite pinging and was complaining to one of my friends about the power loss, we decided to go to town and his 96 swb ext cab couldent keep up!! with fuel injection and an auto with GREAT throttle response got owned by my carb sm425 on cheap gas with high compression!! it was awesome he looked at his pickup like it was dirt after that then i told him the mileage i was getting and he perked up have a great day guys

When I built my 11:1 cr 350, I had to limit my centrifugal advance otherwise I experienced severe pinging from 3000 rpm and up when using low octane fuel.

what kind of compresion are you runing. i got a 383 also just wondering what kinda problems i might run into.

What GM crate did you get? ZZ383 or HT383? What kinda gas mileage are you getting? I know you're the one with the questions but I'm curious about your motor.
