Chrome Alternator case

Has anyone ever used or been around one of these? I got a brand new 100 amp. alt. for free! I am just wondering if the cases are thin junk or if they are decent cases? I saw one at a swap meet that looked kinda thin & am leery. But I am not sure if it was a Proform brand or not.

Re: Chrome Alternator case

What are you worried about? If it about the chrome staying chome, keep a coat of car wax on it (meaning, clean and wax the chrome) and it should stay shiny for a while.

If you are worried that it will break, I have not heard anything about that happening....

Pretty much both really.More concerned about the chrome being thin & not lasting more than the case breaking.
