Help... Which Shocks for my 1972 Stepside?
Hello All,
I need to replace my shock absorbers on my 1972 Cheyenne Super Stepside. I went to Summits website and found over 5 pages of different shocks? SO which shock/model# do you all suggest? I was thinking about a nice KYB or Rancho or??? Not too stiff but not wimpy. Any suggestions would be great thanks. BTW the truck rides stock.

If you're wanting something kinda middle-of-the-road in terms of price/performance, go to Autozone's website and check out the Trail Master shocks.

I put ranchos on my 69 stepside about a year ago. Really pleased with them.

Re: Help... Which Shocks for my 1972 Stepside?
I have had KYB's and now have Bilstein and I like them both. My cop spec Tahoe came from GM with Bilsteins and I though what the heck, besides they have a lifetime warrantee, so do KYB, and as a side note the Edelbrock IAS shocks are supposed to be good. Good luck, you may want to call some tech lines for different shock brands and tell them what you have/want and let them help you pick it out.

I picked up some KYB's from earlyclassic. They happen to be on sale. Very happy with them. I thought about the edelbrocks but they are VERY proud of em'.

I used the KYB gas-a-just ones and have been happy.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll go with KYB. I have always liked the KYB's, I'll try earlyclassic, thanks Brian.
