Welcome to the board from South Mississippi! I don't have any experience with the f-body's but lots of guys here have. You going to use the intank fuel pump or the one on the engine?

The 89 engine will have a one piece piece rear main seal and center bolt valve covers with the center four intake bolt drilled at a straighter angle, 86 was a transition year IIRC, but is likely the older style. You may need a different flywheel and have to massage the center intake holes on the tbi to fit.

Check www.thirdgen.org/. Theres an engine swap fourm with stickys at the top that give some good details on this kinda swap. Like mentioned above the flywheel/flexplate will most lekely be different and the heads can go either way as well. If the valve covers look the same (center bolt) in either application thats a +. The only other thing you will need is a knock sensor for the 350. You cannot use the LO3 (305) knock sensor with a 350 without detonation issues. So get a knowck sensor for a 350 Fbody of the same yet with TPI and you will be set. The main swap is very straight forward unbolt and bolt back in. While you have the engine out I suggest you look into a set of headers if you dont have them already. The log manifolds dont flow well enough for the 5.0 to breath let alone a 5.7.
