fitting body panels
What is the best way to fit a new floor pan to the cab of my truck so that I do not cut the existing one out wrong and leave a gap?? I just ordered a bunch of molded sheet metal to replace existing rotted metal i.e. rocker panels, floor pan, etc...
Is there a template I should fabricate to so I dont mess up on the cut? |

Re: fitting body panels
Don't feel that you have to use the whole patch panel. Just cut out as much as you need to get rid of all the old rusty metal, then trim the new panel to fit, and butt weld it in. For the rocker panels, drill out the old spot welds and just align and carefully weld in the new panels. Measure 4 times and cut once.
