72 Sierra Grande wheel upgrade question

I am very glad to have found this forum. I am starting a full custom job on my 72 GMC, and had a question about a wheel upgrade.

I need to start out swapping out the 4.11 rear end for something more suitable for highway rpm and better gas milleage. I also want to get some decent wheels thrown on as well. My problem is, the truck was a custom camper originally, and it has 8 bolt wheels. I have found some rims I like, but they are 5 bolt. Is it an easy switch to make? Going from the original 8 bolt to the new 5 bolt, and re-doing the brakes to some good quality disc, all around, is part of the plan. But I don't know where would be a good place to start. Or if its a major issue at all, being that this is my first dip into the world of custom auto??

I plan on photodocumenting the whole process of customization. The truck has been in the family since new, and holds a great deal of senitmental value to me.

I am amazed after 24 years that the truck is as clean looking as it is. I pollished out the stock paint a few years ago and it gleamed like new. She's not much to look at now, with all the stock trim and huge camper mirrors slapped on her, but it should look pretty great here in the next 6 months or so.

Thanks in advance to anyone who replys.. I will get some pictures of it up hopefully soon.
