Bikini Top?

Are pre-fabbed bikini tops availble for our rigs, or are they one-off customs? My 71 came with no top at all and I don't really plan to need to enclose the bed area, so a bikini would be pefect to keep the Texas rain and sun off my head. I have not been able to find one yet, so "Do they exist?"

Thanks,
Herb

Re: Bikini Top?

No they do not. Last year or so, one of the members had a guy that would make them... Don't know if he is still making them or not... TonyP was his user name but he has been M.I.A. the last 6mos or more....
Some have had luck at awning or boat cover shops and simply making what you want...

Re: Bikini Top?

TonyP and I did a lot of leg work to make some available a while back at no profit to us. We just wanted to get the available. I will pm you the contact info but I would definitely advise you to contact TonyP before sending money to make sure they can still be made. Last I heard they could be but the lead time was about 1 month.

Re: Bikini Top?

Thanks for the replies (and the PM details!) - That special order top looks GREAT!. I need to finalize my bar/cage ideas and install before I commit I guess. Yukon - would you mind providing me with a measurement or two when you get a chance? I am looking for the distance from the center of the windshield frame to the front of your roll bar main hoop and then the measurement from the floor (bed or cab) to the top of the main hoop of the roll bar. As I have nothing there right now, these will give me a place to shoot for in deciding bar placement.

Thanks,
Herb

Here is some measurments I took a while back that might help you.

I'll try to get you the windshield to bar measurement in the next day or two.

Re: Bikini Top?

Sorry for the delay but got you a couple other measurments this morning. From the edge of the floor behind the front seats to the tube of the roll bar on my K5 is 7 1/4".

From the tube of the rollbar to the point on the windshield frame where the top meets the windshield frame (directly over my bolt on rear view mirror) is about 33 1/4".

I've been told I have the aftermarket style roll bar in my 70 K5.

Hope this info helps.
