replacement engine

I'm planning on replacing my 350 in my 1971 GMC 4x4 Swb. I located several websites and the one that i decided to go with was with www.chevy-350-engines.com It is a remanufactured 350 engine with a 7 year warranty for about $1450 delivered to my house. $1012 for the engine $255 delivery and $200 core. Just wanted to see if anyone had ordered from them or if anyone had any suggestions for a place with a better deal

Thanks

Re: replacement engine

that's actuly a pretty good deal as is. the only way you'll save a little more is by finding someone local, but even then you may not get that killer warranty.

Re: replacement engine

Before You Buy A Remanufactured Engine Make Sure That all The Parts Are Replaced & Not Just The Broken Or Worn Out Ones. Alot Of Engine Builders On The Net Just Fix Whats Wrong Or Broken. As Far As A 70,000 Warranty Goes... Well Thats Great.. But It Doesn't Do You Much Good When You're Sitting On The Side Of The Road. Will They Be Around In 3 Or 4 Or 7 Years When This Motor Has Another 70,000 Miles On It??? Warranty's Are Just A Numbers Game. Even If 20% Come Back.. If They Are Making 100% Profit Then 20% Is A Very Livable Number. Maybe Everything Is Great With These Engines.. I Don't Have Any Idea. But If Something Sounds Too Good To Be True...i'm Skeptical.. Be Very Careful & Check Them Out Really Well. I Hope It Is All Good. John

Re: replacement engine

They give a very good summary of what is done to each engins on the site, sounds like it's a new engine.

Re: replacement engine

My new GM crate 350 cost me about that same money. Can't remember what the warranty was though.

Re: replacement engine

Do some checking on them the Better Business Bureau might can shed some light on what kind of dealings good or bad they have been having.

Re: replacement engine

I think I can get a new goodwrench for the same price. I will be coming down to Fayetteville NC on Nov 11 if you want to meet. I know that is a little far for you, just wanted to make the offer.

Re: replacement engine

You can get one of the gm goodwrench 350s with 260 hp and 350 ft/lbs. for the same amount like what the other members said but I was looking on summits website and they said that it has a 1 year warranty. It depends on how well that company you're looking at rebuilds the motor. Where in Georgia are you located?

Re: replacement engine

Looking in their catalog, it looks like the do now charge truck freight for engines... around $125 for small blocks and around $175 for big blocks.
