Re: spare tire?

Most, if they even carry one, just lay it in the bed. Stepsides, you could use the side mount.

Spare tires? We don't need no stinking spare tires!(said with spanish accent)

Get road hazard warranty when you buy tires? Join AAA? Get doughnut spare and put in glovebox?

Seriously, never thought I'd need it?

I like my factory installed bed mounted carrier, however my pickup is a work truck, not a show piece.

Re: spare tire?

Won't that stuff gunk up your tire??? How can you be sure that it'll work when you need it to? Does it just barely fill the tire up or does it make it fairly solid?

Re: spare tire?

Fix a flat only works with small holes. It will only partially air up a tire. If you used two cans, it might work better. Tire shopes hate washing that stuff out of a tire so they can patch it.

Re: spare tire?

Don't even talk about washing cell phones. My wife just got a new camera phone and being the wonderful hubby that I am, I decided to take the dirty clothes and wash them for her since she works nights and deserved a break today. Can you now guess what happened? I threw our jeans in the wash and her phone was in her pocket and washed it. Crappy part is she just got the phone to replace her last one that never worked right. So now we are out $400-$500 dollars in cell phones and she still hasn't got one to use. I feel like a doorknob its always my turn to screw up!

do not pleaSe do not use fixaflat it leaves a chemical in the tire that will not let patches stick to the inside fo the tire. as a tire techican i know and will share this info fix-a-flat does not work and if you leave it in the tire the tire will never balance and it can cause the rim to start rusting and corroding

The plave where I buy my tires told me the same thing. They said NEVER use fix a flat. In most cases they won't service the flat.

I carry a spare when I am going out of town. I have a rubber bed mat so it does funk up my bed. Getting a flat with no spare in the middle of the 'hood ain't funny...

Been there, done that.....Changing a flat while the neighborhood is shaving their heads on the street corner with straight razors......................well, I made a NASCAR pit stop look slow!

Re: spare tire?

i took an old brake rotor and welded some tubing together to make a stand so the tire is in the bed. i wanted it below the the top of the bedside but i didn't want it flat on the floor.. i wanted to use all the space in that corner so that's why it's at an angle.

now i have a good rally wheel and good tire in there, that crap is out, but same setup.
