Good Saturday

Pretty good Saturday. Got a good bit done on the 70 today. I started out with a multicolored mess

and now I got her down to almost just about basic black. I sprayed the inside and outside of my cab today with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. Hopefully protect the metal until I get back to the final body work.

My son likes it as it is. He wants me to do some red flames on it. I guess he'll be a rat rod boy. Wife just said, "You didn't paint the hood."
Oh well.

Later I got out the oven cleaner and pressure washer and cleaned The Valdez oil spill from the rear of the frame.

Got her all dried off and now I can finish up the rear of the frame, get it painted, and start adding the blazer tank, new rear end, and who knows.

Oh well here is a few more shots of how she waits for me to get back to her.

Now onto clean-up and dinner with some board members.

Gotta love this place.

Thanks for listening to the rambles.

Yeah I know

I forgot to clean off all the ancient tree sap drippings before I started today, and really wanted to get the metal covered. Hood will be on the next go round.!!

Re: Good Saturday

The advantage of living on the MS gulf coast!!!
Today, in the tundra of north MS it has been cloudy, overcast with a brisk north west wind and a balmy high of about 45 F.

It is always good to make progress on the truck project.

Re: Good Saturday

Looks good Bill. He got a taste of the arctic by coming up my way so I could meet Jimbotronics. It's in the 50's, but he's a misplaced Yankee so he liked it.

Re: Good Saturday

Well a step in the right direction! I spent the day in my shop (started a fire about 5am ) working on a board members truck. I got the wiring (painless kit) all mocked up for a fully hidden system and the seats (2004 chevys) layed out and drilled for mounting. Now as soon as the front sheet metal gets blasted and re-hung I can remove the cab and add the bracing for th eseat mounts. I hope to have this in paint in about 2 months or less

Re: Good Saturday

Hey Bill, hows about I send you some of our Iowa weather? That should slow you down. It was 26º here this morning with a 20mph wind. I about froze my Tu-Tu off...... Nice progress on the truck!

If you did send me your weather I'd be OK with it, however, it would bother many down here and I would have to send you something even worse....the "look" from my wife"

Re: Good Saturday

Truck looks good and progress rocks Palf, but if you look closer at the 2nd picture of the series, it looks like the fuel filler could use a little more mud, is that an area you are going to address or are you just gonna leave it alone. Just looks like the filler panel was a little flat compared to the surrounding panels.
Oh.... You forgot to paint the hood.

Yep, my home made patch didn't have quite enough bend. That and a couple others where my long lost, and hardly had welding skills need tweaked up on, but at least she won't rust between jobs now
