Cool 1970 6cyl to v8 swap

Have a 1970 swb chevy with 6cyl/powerglide(no ps/pb) that I have restored. Want to replace the 6 with a v8. So I bought a 1972 lwb with 350/350, ps,pb. Question, will everything under the hood of the 72 bolt right in to my 70.
Mainly concerned about the steering column for ps and the 350 shift indicator and length of the drive shaft. Any other obsticles I need to know about.
Thanks

Drive shaft maybe, everything else will fit like a glove. The GM Gods would not have it any other way. Just a reminder to change the motor towers and move them to the forward position for a V8.

The power brake booster won't work unless you convert your front end to discs. You'll also have to change the steering gear bpx to getthat power steering. Have fun, I just did what you will be doing.... MY GOD WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

Re: 1970 6cyl to v8 swap

There are trucks out there that have Power drum brake systems. 2 months ago I pulled a booster from a 68 Chevy in a wrecking yard and plan to install it on my 70 GMC. The booster will work, but you will have to keep your Drum-Drum proportioning block if you keep your drum brakes. Or just convert the whole system to 5 lug disks, front brake lines, booster, Disk/Drum P-block and all.
