found the perfect GM console for blazers/'burbs

i think so, anyway. i was on my way home when i decided to slip into the hummer store to look at some roof racks for the sportchicken, and decided to ask the parts counter about a few things. one thing led to another, and i started thinking about the center console in the H2. here's why i think it's just about perfect, perhaps you will agree...

it measures ~12" wide, ~18" tall at top of armrest, and about 30" long. it has a/c ball vents in the back that would appear to be able to house a '72 ball vent perfectly. the cup holder/gear shifter section could be rotated 180 deg, and the factory 4wd lever would align in the shifter's place. all in all, it looks and measures to be just about perfect. the parts counter quoted me $220 for a brand new console assembly, less the a/c vents (they are $70 ea...ouch!)

trying to find some good pics. let me just say that it is almost impossible to find decent pics on the www. i tried, though

more. honestly, there were quite a few things from a hummer that would fit right in on a 4wd blazer or 'burb. if there's a store or friend in your area, i highly recommend stopping in to ID8 (ideate: the act of generating ideas.) i want to order one, but $220 is a steep investment for an experiment.

That would be sweet, ive been looking for something to fill up the void in mine as well. I wish those seats wernt worth a fortune..... they would go great with the console as well....
