Carpet Questions

I finished my floor in Dynamat Extreme. I was searching for carpet and noticed "matting" was $75.00 extra. Is this worth the dough? I am assuming that will make it "extra plush?" Also, what did y'all use to attach your carpet? A product like Liquid Nails?? Any advice?

You have a link to the carpet supplier? It depends on what they use as "Matting". The carpet I just bought has a mat/pad attached to the back of it but the mat/pad stops underneath the front edge of the seat. If the carpet your supplier sells has the same pad as mine I would think that, plus the dynamat would be enough...

YUP, every replacement carpet set i have ever bought came with the factory style mat pad already attached.

find a new supplier if they insist you need the additional pad. I believe the carpet for our trucks runs about $100 pre-cut from classic industries and all the other big time catalog people.

Re: Carpet Questions

Being an upholstered myself, I use spray glue, 3M has a good spray adhesive. 8088 I beleive is the number. I would go out and look at one of my cans. It is is in a white and black labeled spray can. usually can get it at your local autozone, Advance auto. who ever you have available. just follow the instructions.
HAs for the matting. see if the premolded carpet as it already. if not. don't spend the extra money. go to a local upholstery shop and get a yard or so of matting. probably 20 bucks. I believe I only gave 15 for the last I bought.
