Front Bag/Tire ?
I am going to be bagging the front of my 81 C10 this weekend and was wondering if my tires will clear the fender lips, I am running 255/60-15 on a 15x8 w 4" of BS. Scared that it is gonna hit the fender lip.
Any help would be greatly Apreciated |

Re: Front Bag/Tire ?
That tire is 29.9" tall and 12.4" wide. With only 4" of backspace it sounds like your headed for the fender lip. What spindles do you have?

Re: Front Bag/Tire ?
If you also have dropped spindles, when aired out it will most likely rub the outer fender lip @ close to full lock on the steering. You'd be better w/4.5 ~ 5" back spacing. The prob then is w/only a 15" wheel, you'll need to trim the lower a-arm lip further back because it will contact the wheel much sooner than full lock.

Re: Front Bag/Tire ?
Accoring to your specs i don't forsee any problems. You have to remember that the lower you go the more your wheel & tires lean into the truck. I know it may look like it will hit, but it won't (well mine didn't). When you are aired out (assuming that you remove your lower control arm bump stop mounts) your inner fenders will most likely sit on the tires (assuming you keep them in) So in order to drive the truck you need to raise it somewhat anyway which should also be more than enough clearance to turn fully. But as Scoti you will prolly need to grind your arms down to clear the wheel lip.

Re: Front Bag/Tire ?
never had a problem with rubbing only between the caliper and the wheel, the tires are only 27" tall though contrary to your earlier post.

Re: Front Bag/Tire ?
Never had to never rubbed, only rubbing was between the caliper and the wheel. The tire is only
27" tall with a 10.2" section width not 29.9" tall and 12.4" wide. Last edited by Col Clank; 01-04-2007 at 11:08 AM. |

Re: Front Bag/Tire ?
Only when fully laid out it rubbes on the fender innerstructure. gonna cut that out so no biggie. For the back I am saving up to do a 4 link and coilovers with a super C so that I can run 33x21.5-15 micky thompson sportsmans on 15x15 convo pro's. Just taking a long time to save up the money to do it all at once, front just looks that good really low.

I saw the pics you posted in the other thread and it looks good. Are both pics shown with the bags airred out? Whats it look like with the bag at ride height? (i.e. Did replacing lower springs with the bags (airred up) get you lower?) Good job.

Re: Front Bag/Tire ?
will post an aired up pic later today, yes it did give me the lower ride height that
I wanted. When It is layed out I have about an inch between the tire and fender lip. |
