Re: Movie Gone in 60 sec's
The original is the best......Gotta love the scene when that cop car took out the front row of those new Caddies at that dealership. I remember when that movie came out in the mid 70's, there was a lot of hipe on TV about it.

Re: Movie Gone in 60 sec's
I like both versions, something most don't know, in the Newer version, Nickolas Cage
did all of the driving in Eleanor, no stunt driver was used, his times were faster than the stunt drivers times. Most people do not know that about the movie, lucky Ba$tard

Speaking of Barrett-Jackson I believe I saw a newer Eleanor go across the block there last year. Don't know if it was a clone or not. I'm not particularly a 'stang fan but I do like that car. Hmmm. I could have sworn the new one was a big block though, in the movie....

Re: Movie Gone in 60 sec's
All Eleanors like the one below are semi-clones. This model, the Shelby GT500E ("E" for Eleanor) was NEVER made by Ford. The "clone" is based (in concept) on the Shelby GT500. And no one in there right mind would ruin a real Shelby GT500 to make a fakey "E" model. They are "resto-rods", based on 67 Mustang Fastbacks.
They're still basadd, and one would look miy-t fine in my yard. Just don't think the "E" model was made by Ford or ole' Carroll Shelby.

Re: Movie Gone in 60 sec's
You can see quite a few 68-72 trucks in the old movie; he blows by what appears to be a 68 anniversary truck in one scene; crushing a perfectly good Challenger was kind of sad......

I like the old movie better though, if only because it was mostly real. The owner of the Eleanor above should at least tighten the alternator belt...Ford guys...
