What axles in 71 1-ton 4x4?
I'm just wondering what kind of axles would be in a 71 1-ton 4x4. Is the front a Dana 60? What's in the rear? The 14-bolt FF wasn't in trucks that early, was it? How good are these axles in comparison to the later-model 1-ton axles? Thanks!

Re: What axles in 71 1-ton 4x4?
I don't think they ever made a 4x4 in a 1 ton till '73 or '74. The 3/4 ton K20 would of had a dana44 front and a dana 60 rear in '71.

Re: What axles in 71 1-ton 4x4?
No factory 1 ton 4X4 until 1977. NAPCO still converted 1 tons to 4X4 in '71, and that truck would have a NAPCO front axle. I believe the axle would have been based on the HO52 ("Eaton") center section.
