Question on GMC's hood fitment??? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have read that a 67 / 68 Chevy hood won't fit correctly on a 69 up Chevy front end. But since the GMC's didn't change fender configurations. Will a 67 68 hood fit and look correct on a 70 model GMC front end ? I am going to go pick up a 70 GMC custom in the near future and it needs a hood from being banged up alittle. I have a 67 68 hood and curious of its fitment.

BarryB - the area that doesen't fit is at the grill. If you replace the the top bar of the GMC grill with the 67/68 style the early hood will fit the 69 and up front end. I believe you also have to replace the hood latch with the early style.

I'd like to put a 67-68 hood on my 71 GMC as well. Anybody out there that has actually done it? Thanks.

O.K. well I also have a Chevy hood latch. Another question should it fit in place of the factory 70's one??
