YG8 Special Promotion
Anyone know what this code is for? It is the SPID label off of my truck.

Re: YG8 Special Promotion
Highlander, that's what option YG8 indicates, I believe.

Re: YG8 Special Promotion
Interior refinements, such as molded door panels and an optional Highlander seat trim, took place for 1972.
YEPPERS!!! Seat Trim http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...rticleId=63939 During 1972, a unique Chevrolet promotional pickup was introduced for a limited time in 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton models. This truck was designated the “Highlander”. It did not have side emblems or related nameplates that would cause people to remember this special model. GM only listed the word Highlander on the glove box door inside ID sheet coded YG8.

Re: YG8 Special Promotion
My last truck was a Highlander with a BB and it had the blue seat in it, it looked like it was covered the day it left the lot. It was perfect. I gave it away years ago to replace it with a late model 60/40 because I thought it was ugly. If only I had the knowledge I have now, back then, so I could have held onto it.

Re: YG8 Special Promotion
Yes, it did, but they were just Monte Carlo caps.
