Sound dampening?
A couple of questions...Approx price to dampen your truck? and is it worth the extra bucks...

Re: Sound dampening?
Depends on what you use. Most street rod shops sell foil backed foam padding for about $20/roll, you will need at least 2 rolls maybe more. THen there is Dynamat which is a foil backed rubber/asphalt product it cost more but is supposed to work better.

Re: Sound dampening?
A couple of places you can research it. Depends on what all you want to do.
Useful test info on it - http://sounddeadenershowdown.com/ THe one I'm probably going to go with on my`03 Sierra and maybe later down the road when my `68 is done. - http://raamaudio.com/ I like this one better, but it's pricey - http://secondskinaudio.com/ In general, you'll see it from the first link I sent, but I wouldn't bother with overpriced dynamat. I'd stay away from asphalt loaded stuff. Stick with butyl products. In short, I'd do one of these two depending on what you feel like spending. Also remember, there are more facets to sound reduction than just dampening with the heavy rubber stuff. Last edited by DoobieBrother; 01-14-2007 at 07:13 PM. |
