long or short
th350 Transmission, can you switch out the longshaft on the transmission easily? take a longshaft tranny and add the short shaft to it ?

If I'm understanding your question correctly the answer is yes and no. You can change out the short for long (and vice versa) but the shaft runs from the front to the back of the trans causing you to have to disassemble the entire trans for the swap. You can even use a 4x4 trans in a 2wd if you have a 2wd shaft and tailshaft to swap in. So yes it can be done. No it isn't easy unless you build transmissions for a living (in which case you probably wouldn't have asked this question). It might be easier to just swap out the entire trans and have a new driveshaft made or source a bolt in swap.
