Message board question and column question
First as I review my previous messages there is a black dot on the envelope in the left column. What does this mean?
Second , I'm still looking for someone who knows how to get the upper collar off a automatic column so I can rebuild the upper shifting mechanism. It is really sloppy. Thanks for your help. |

On your steering column, after you remove the steering wheel, remove the ts lever and the three ts hold down screws. The column wire cover should be off as you need to get slack in the ts wires. You then turn the collar ccw and pull the collar off. once you get the collar to a certain point you can usually work the ts out with the wiring. The fiber optic cable for the indicator should be removed first to avoid damage. Iassume that you have the column out of the truck.
Good luck! Jim |
