Everything you'll ever need to know about brake fluid.
Everyone should book mark it, real good reading.

I used cheap (Autozone Brand) Dot 3 stuff to flush my system and when I thought it was almost done -- switched to Valvoline Sythetic Dot3/4 to fill. Seems to have worked out nicely.

around here we have no access to anything cept for what A/Z and NAPA have, guess really have no choice in this case, new cheap fluid has to be better than old cheap fluid thats in the system now... probably as old as the truck is im sure,

thanks

Don't mean to change the subject but this could be relevento to Fast68Chevy's fluid choice.

Is it a good idea to mix reg. fluid with synthetics?

Check the site Andy posted above ,it indicates you should not mix them.

Something else also... While it has been a few months since I read that page (I'll see if I can do it this evening when i have a little more time) I want to add this if it is not in there.
It seems that when you go from non-synthetic to synthetic, there is a very good chance in all your seals going bad in th following months.
When I first went into the Army in '93, we were just starting the chainge over to synthetic. Every single caliper and drum brake cylinder went bad within 4 months.
Just an observation...may not be fact, but an observation.
