Re: lift spindles?
AIM did in the past, but I havent heard anything good about thier company. It has been many years ago that they made them. Currently as far as I know nobody makes a lift spindle. There are lift coils and control arms available and they will get the job done but the ride will suffer as there will be no drop left in the suspension. The best way to lift would be to cut out the coils and coil buckets and run coil over shocks.. the front end actually tops out on the upper coil bucket when it is lifted. If that is eliminated then travel will be increased, though limiting straps would be in order.

Re: lift spindles?
preunner, i ofter wondered about taking out the front suspension and putting in a newer one from say a 2001 on up then using a fabtech like system for that year, what do you think the pro's and cons would be of that? You can add a 4x4 rear end and run six bolt pattern wheels all the way around at least. Smashingchuck, my son had the lifted a-arm that aim made for him, i never cared for it, seemed the suspension was way to tight - no give anywhere, made the truck seem it was on roller skates.

Re: lift spindles?
alright... I wouldn't want to lift it any other way... I want to keep the stock ride, and dont want to mess with anything else.

Re: lift spindles?
I have looked into using 88-98 lift spindles. Some 67-72 guys swap to 88-98 spindle to upgrade to disc brakes. The 67-72s and 73-87s arent all that different. I can look for a thread on this if you are interested.

Re: lift spindles?
prerunner it would only be for someone else my son has headed another direction - k10 4x4. He is taking the 2wd lift that aim fabricted for him and will have the damaged a-arm repaired. Here are pics one of the damaged a-arm - he was able to run 36" tires with it and the next pic is the project he's working on now.

Re: lift spindles?
Thats a nice truck but the first pic shows some of the problems with lift coils... First you can see where the upper control arm hits the upper coil bucket..
Secondly you can see the angle of the upper ball joint.. though the lower control arm is angled to help correct this, the upper does not seem to be. Thirdly you can see the severe angle of the tie rod... That is a slick looking truck and I am by no means talking trash about it...

Re: lift spindles?
Looks to be missing the motor & trans at the time of the picture. No weight on the front could explain the extreme angle of the tie rods......???

Re: lift spindles?
I wonder if Fabtech would make a few if we got a group buy for them?

Re: lift spindles?
You could be right but you cant tell that from the first pic and like 79Silv4x4 pointed out, the 2 pics are of different trucks..which I didnt notice the first time.
