71 VIN Location
I have a 1971 Blazer, and I need a rubbing of the VIN to get the title/registration switched over. Was it stamped into the frame that year? If so, where do I look? It no longer has the stock engine in it (396 swapped in).
Thanks for the input.

Doesn't have the vin plate in the driverside door opening?

Re: 71 VIN Location
I had actually checked the door jam, but not close enough. The PO (or someone) painted over the plate, but the vin is still legible. I guess thats why they're stamped! Thanks guys for making me look again.
::edit:: its been one of those days.

Re: 71 VIN Location
no kidding. the funniest part is that i had already checked it against the title back when I bought it, but I've been messing with so many different things that it slipped my mind (and dark+rain+dark purple paint might have contributed).
out of curiosity, was the vin stamped in any other locations?
