Re: Wtb Nv4500

I'd like to have one too. Have you priced the adapter to bolt it to 205 or 221? It costs more than a tranny. I haven't been looking hard but I usually don't have too either. The adapter is in the 1500 range I believe.

Re: Wtb Nv4500

Get one from a dodge cummins, they are a nv4500HD, they cane with a np205 stock, and you can get a bell housing froM advanced adapters for like $500. Or use the chevy one and use a NP241, it has a way better low range is very srong and weighs half as much as a 205. or, use the chevy on and the dodge np205, change the input on the 205 to the chevy 32 spine unit and use a clocking ring so you can ajust where the tcase front output height is.

Re: Wtb Nv4500

OK looks like it's time for an nv4500 course . The nv4500 never came with a np205 behind it in any application{I wish it did},however the Dodge version will accept a Dodge 205 with no adapter. The GM version will accept a late 85-91 32spline np205 with a $103 spacer avaliable from Advance Adapters. There is no adapter for the 221 Rockwell. The adapter for the standard 10 and 27spline 205 is between $500-$650 from AA. We have put together various combos and currently are assembling a Cummins,GM NV4500 with Cummins input and a late 32spline GM 205. Another thing is there were a few short input 32spline GM 205's that will bolt directly to the back of the nv4500. However I have never seen one in person.

FYI, I'm in the parts business and deal in these parts regularly.

Re: Wtb Nv4500

I was hoping to find a 2wd trans and then just use a divorced transfer case. I have a 32 spline 205 but its the figure 8 style so I cant use the spacer but its cheaper to get the newer 205 then it is to get the adaptor from AA so if i get a 4wd trans then ill just find a newer 205 to use.

Re: Wtb Nv4500

Sorry to barge in, but does anyone have any hints for mating an 85 NP208 to an NV4500? I've heard/read that its a possible bolt on, but haven't been able to find the web pages where I read it, or to confirm it.

Currently the 208 is bolted to a 465 trans that looks to be an 85 as well. At least the shift rod is chrome and not shaped like the correct shifter for a 72 truck. I think...

I've also not had much luck finding this info on the web.

I'd like the later 4500 with a synchro first and about 5.6 first gear.

Thanks
