Gas tank time
Its time to get a fuel tank. any suggestions. I have been researching CPP, No Limit, Early Classic enterptise etc. What is the best way to go? Stainless, Aluminum, poly, what is the most cost effective way of relocating the tank under the bed? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Truck will be carburated.

Re: Gas tank time
Get a FuelCellGuy tank. Cant beat the price, craftsmanship and customer service. Plus he's a board member! Ive seen a few different ones he has done (as well as my own) and im sure he can custom make you any size, shape, capacity you want.
Just do a search for fuelcellguy and you can find some good pics of tanks he has built for other board members. As far as I remember your other options are 69-72 Blazer tanks (poly or steel), 73-80 or so blazer or burb tanks (with some mods) or something like a Summit fuel cell.

If you are looking for best for the price, blazer tank swaps can be had for about half the cost of a custom aluminum fuel cell. It comes down to your own budget and exactly what you are looking for IMO |

Re: Gas tank time
Blazer tank kits run around $250-300 depending on what filler you use. That is doing your own work. The rear has a crossmember than needs trimming. There should be a write up in FAQ's that will give you enough info on that option to make an informed decision.

Re: Gas tank time
Whatever you do dont get a plastic fuel cell from summit or jegs. I will be changing my tank and may buy an aluminum cell, but this plastic one sucks.

Re: Gas tank time
I have an New American made poly Blazer tank kit w/sending unit and straps that I might sell. Paid $225 for it and will sell for $225 shipped to your door OBO.
I decided to go with SS or aluminum so that I can put a direct fill cap under my wood floor.

Re: Gas tank time
Don't mean to hijack the thread...but, will a tank mounted between the frame also work with an air bagged ride?

Re: Gas tank time
depends on how low you go I guess. I have mine mocked into my 4x4 if you click on my link and go to "new parts" you will see how far it hangs. Most of them are all the same unless you get a custom Fuel cell guy tank made to your measurements. If you have a LWB then there is plenty of room in the frame, the tank is 17" deep if I remember.... I can meauser though if needed.
