Re: My new goodies

Got to love new parts!

I don't know if all V8 trucks have dual exhaust or not, but if your truck has a single exhaust because of the 2 barrel, you are going to end up with little to no benefit from adding these parts. We added a 4 barrel carb and manifold to a buddy's Camaro in high school and it ran worse, hacked off the single exhaust, added headers with a dual exhaust system and you wouldn't even had thought it was the same engine.

Just my 2 cents. (nice parts!!)

Re: My new goodies

Don't forget to bypass/replace the resistor wire. It has been a while and I am probably mistaken but you can ditch the wire that runs from the starter to the distributor too. You just need to get switched 12v power (even when cranking) to the dizzy and you will be good to go. The PO on my truck used the resistor wire to power the distributor and I kept having ignition problems. I am sure someone will correct me if I m wrong and fill in anything I missed.

Take your time and make sure you make good electrical connections because they can be very hard to troubleshoot if you run into any problems.

Wow, those Taylor wires are sexy and they match the rest of the plumbing on my engine.

Re: My new goodies

Can I use the 12 volt wire that went to my coil? or do I need a whole new wire?

and I am at a stand still with the fuel line, so not much progress today
