cab full of gas!!
Earlier today I went out to my truck that I am building to hookup my cluster and put in a different bench seat and when I opened the door of the truck I smelled gas and looked at the passanger side floorboard and noticed there was a big puddle of gas since the truck is on a little bit of a hill. I pulled the seat out and then the gas tank had about 5 gal of gas in it yesterday to make sure fuel pump and lines didn't leak. set the tank on a work stand and fulled with water and have a pin hole in the bottom. If my parents bring me back I would get some pics of the hole or where the gas removed my rubberized under coat from the floor. At least I didn't have carpet or sound deadining in it. My truck is so great I keeps me guessing after I fix one thing something else pops up. Just had to put it out here.

Re: cab full of gas!!
At least our oem gas tanks aren't nearly as dangerous as the 73+ pickups with their fuel tanks under the bed.

Re: cab full of gas!!
Yea I think I may just get the tank fixed or a new in cab one I am not worried about the safety issue. I figure if my tuck is gonna go down its gonna go down in a big ball of fire.

Re: cab full of gas!!
Found where my parents put my camera when I was at work. Here is the puddle after a day I need to clean it up. It was all nice black under coat not its tan/brown and needs to be repainted.
Here is a bad pic of the leak.

I guess if I'd been holding it in for 35+ years, I'd really have to pee too!

Re: cab full of gas!!
this morning I have been double checking everything and also noticed I need to replace the base gasket on my fuel pump. and I forgot to tighten up one of my tierod end nuts. I am looking at repairing the tank but If I need to buy a new one I'll prolly get a under bed cell but I dont want to do any cutting to my bed since I dont really have any rust just some surface rust on the floor and a little wave in the floor.
