bought my air ride kit and this is the compressor that was supplied, I guess I had high hopes of it being a nice shiny chrome one, anyways it doesnt say anywhere on the compressor itself what it is only on the instructions, is it possible its a rebuilt? I was told this was a viair but who knows

What is the name of the company you bought your stuff from? I hope it isn't an AIM affiliate.

I just went and talked to the guy again and he has re-assured me it is a viair compressor, somehow i still dont believe him, he claims it isnt rebuilt or anything. Also he couldnt answer me as to why it doesnt say Viair anywhere on the compressor, i think it is going back

The 'guy' is so full of it that his eyes are probably brown. Thats a Puma compressor, distributed by shAIM industries and its a pretty damn ****ty compressor. I know, I had two of them a few years back, and they only lasted a week, then I upgraded to some Viair 450's that have been going strong since.

Ask him then, if he's so insistent that its a Viair, what model it is? All of Viair's compressors have a label on the body that tells what model, what amperage, what cfm, etc, they have. This compressor does not have any of that. I'd ask for a refund of all parts and go somewhere where people know what they're talking about.

yep its sounding that way I havent taken anything out of the boxes yet except the compressor and the brackets in the other picture.

ive tried some research for you and im sorry to say i cant find it.... all viair compressors have the air filter/intake on the body of the compressor except the big 550 yours looks like it has an inlet on the head of the compressor, if true it is definatly not a viair, checked aim and none of theres look like it, cant find much on thomas compressors... definately not a zenith...

the compressor is one of the most important parts, without enough air you cant do anything. definately worth making a stink about with the shop you bought it from

thanks for looking for me i spent about 2 hours tonight trying to figure it out as well and i cant so far, I have email viair and told them about the company trying to sell these compressors and pawning them off as viair. im going in with some pictures tomorrow, ill let you all know what happens

not sure what difference it would make to you in colorado but there called poorboys customs,(they arent a big name company or anything) at this point im not so much bashing the shop because i was there when the guy i bought this all from opened the boxes so he didnt really know what was in them until i went in yesterday and told him, he wants to see the compressor.

dont think its the dc2000, the mounts are different and the head is way different....

It must be some old discontinued model of an aim compressor the reason i say that is because the aim DC series compressors bear the most resemblance (sp?)

I think your right slammed dime, I emailed Viair's sales rep and here what he saidHello Jason,



The compressor(s) in the photos you attached are not Viair compressors. We do not know the brand or manufacturer of these compressors. Please let us know name of the dealer who sold you the air ride kit that is claiming these are Viair compressors. We would appreciate a copy of your purchase receipt or anything in writing that says the compressors sold to you in the kit are Viair compressors.

Glad you got $$ back, I had one of those comps.

Blew once, rebuilt motor by electric shop, lasted another week, blew.

Switched to Viair. I'm now happy and full of air.
