cutting aluminum???
ok yall i got a question. im making a custom gauge insert and i have a sheet of aluminum i need to cut. ive tried cutting aluminum before without good results. i can cut the shape out but how do i cut the holes for the gauges and still make it look nice? please help....

I always have used a hole saw or have a machine shop cut it, eihter way, it shouldn't be too hard or pricey.

Machine shop is the way to go, we have a cnc mill here where I work, and I machined mine out on a Haas machine....you can't beat it, and having it done professionally will be worth the money....

I work at a machine also, and all i gotta say is that would be the best route to go. CNC's are one of the best things to use. Aluminum is in general pretty soft so u could use a whole saw and then file the circles to make em look a little nicer, then just take some fine grit, fine fine grit, paper and it should shine up, then finish with some scotch brite......
