I finally got one! 1972 GMC
OK everyone. I finally got one. Bad respray (light blue orig) very low optioned truck w/ 350 and 3 on the tree. I lvoet he gmc grill, now it's time to undo the idocy and get it looking right.
Issues: Ignition switch is on the floor and not connected Headlight switch dangling below dash (but works!) slight rust in one outer rocker and in both inner rockers... also in both inner fenders and behind one rear tire - all out of sight pretty much. Needs to have the painted chrome returned to real chrome Needs grill surround fixed and prettied Then comes the other plans - undisclosed until the rest of this works out. Here are the pics!! (I think - 1st time posting them)

Re: I finally got one! 1972 GMC
So anyone ever made their own dashpad on the cheap with some scrap sheet metal and fabric store vinyl?

Re: I finally got one! 1972 GMC
That’s cool! FWIW you can get the dash pads pretty reasonable.

Nice buy! If getting rid of that rear bumper is on your list of things to do, let me know. I would like to take it off of your hands.

Looks like a real good platform. Not too many options, but now you can build it how you want. The sky is the limit (or your checkbook).

Re: I finally got one! 1972 GMC
That's a nice place to start....
Why do all these trucks come with that exact same horseblanket seat cover? ROTFLOL! Looks like rust in the usual places, but I've seen worse and the bedsides look great. Mine look like relief maps of Wyoming.

Re: I finally got one! 1972 GMC
I bought a 72 GMC a month ago and had to put new motor and tranny in it.
I believe it was originally the same color as yours. I had to polish the aluminum wheels they looked as if they had been on for 5 yrs and never cleaned. they still need work.
