Re: Any reason to swap from 6 lug to 5?
It wouldnt be much of an issue right now but I want to lower the front end and I cant get dropped spindles without converting to disk. it seams like all the cool wheels are 5 lug.

I wanted a more classic look, so I went with corvette rallys which look the same whether they're 5 or 6 lug.

Re: Any reason to swap from 6 lug to 5?
I plan on sticking with 6 , I'm considering keeping these toyota wheels 16"
I'm thinking they'll work when I swap to front disc. here's a ? for you rallye wheel guys such as Bryanw ( see pic ) what does the back side of those wheel caps look like and how do they attach I sure DON"T want to run the toyota caps , even with a chevy center added I hope I can add a chevy cap to these wheels !? THANKS

Re: Any reason to swap from 6 lug to 5?
Will the 5 lug axle in a '71 rear (12 bolt) swap right in my '69 6 lug rear end (12 bolt)?? If so I can buy a rolling '71 frame with front disc for $175.00 and have 5 lug all the way around

Re: Any reason to swap from 6 lug to 5?
The axle widths are not the same for the axles, I can't remember which are the longer years... BUT as long as both rear ends have the same rear end set-up (both are coil, or both are leaf spring) it will be a direct bolt in for the entire rear end. If one is coil and one is leaf, you'll have to do some swapping with the perches.

Re: Any reason to swap from 6 lug to 5?
The axle width change was somewhere in the mid 1970. Some 70's were narrow like the previous and later 70's were wider like the next years to come.
