Rear Leaf Spring Help Needed

My father is working on a 1971 Chevy 1/2 LB 2WD. He has the G70-G50 heavy rear spring option listed on his glovebox. The springs are broke on both sides from the previous owner and we can not find replacements anywhere. He measured them, mounted on the truck, and he said they are 52'' long by 2 1/4'' wide, with 5 leafs. Will 1980s style trucks leaf springs work on his truck? Any options on what we could use as a direct bolt on or how to repair these? Finding parts for 67-72 trucks is not easy in the Northeast as it is for my 80s project.. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Rear Leaf Spring Help Needed

Early Classic Enterprises sells the leafs in a 4" drop, and their page says that the 2 1/4 width is the problem in finding parts (namely shackles to fit 2 1/4 width springs) I looked at some 72-87 springs on E-Bay fer mine, and they are 26" each way from the center bolt to the center of the spring eye, but the listing doesn't say anything about width.... Might be worth asking the seller a question......

Re: Rear Leaf Spring Help Needed

I found a few spring shops in Southern New Hampshire, but I was trying to see if there was a source that had reasonable pricing for new or used parts for this truck. Worst case we could go to the spring shop, I am looking to see if there were any other years that could bolt right in.
