Re: Road Trip: OK to NC weekend 5/11
I'd love to have a nice Oklahoma rust free 67-68 cab as you come through. Know anyone that's got one? I'm in the market as it were. I'm right off the interstate about an hour west of Knoxville. Let me know if you need anything on the way through.

Re: Road Trip: OK to NC weekend 5/11
Looks like I will not have room for a cab this trip, but do have room for smaller stuff and will have more room coming back.

Re: Road Trip: OK to NC weekend 5/11
Made it home about 1:30pm Sunday. Left at 3pm Friday. Total miles was 923. Total sleep during the trip 1 hour on the way back Sunday morning.
Here is the trailer as we were about to transfer over to my friends for him to take back to Raleigh.

Here is the trailer on the way back home. Notice the aerodynamic placement of the blazer top.

Re: Road Trip: OK to NC weekend 5/11
Only problems that I had were related to tires.
On the way, about 2:30am Saturday morning, I had a blowout of one of the trailer tires just outside of Jackson, TN. Luckily I saw it at a TA truck stop. They told me I could pick up one at the Walmart in Jackson, about 12 miles east of the truck stop, and they would put it on. Wouldn't you know it, of the two Walmarts in Jackson, the only one that I the cheaper tire was the one farthest south of the interstate. Got that picked up and put on and was back on the road 2 hours later. The inside tire wall had melted to the rim and took a long time to break loose. I had left a hour later that I had planned, so now I was 3 hours behind schedule. Got to Earls late, but he was very nice and helped me get the stuff loaded eventhough work was hounding him to come in on his vacation. Earl, hope things were okay when you finally went in. He has a great wife - worked right alongside us getting everything loaded and helped me tie things down after he left for work. Got a keeper there - beautiful, smart and doesn't mind getting a little dirty. All the while keeping an eye on the two kids - the youngest being 3 weeks. Or was it like he mentioned - she was glad to get it out of there. Can't wait to see your burb when you get it done. On the way back from Earl's I saw a sign for Davy Crocketts birthplace and State Park, but when I took the exit it said it was 25 miles away. That would have put me another hour late meeting Craig, so I opted not to visit cousin Davy's birthplace. Then there was another exit that said Crocketts Tavern, but when I asked the gas station attendant she said it was closed for the season and always closed. Well so much for visiting relatives this trip. Met Craig (luv2xclr8 ) about midnite Saturday at the Walmart parking lot, in Jackson TN, to pick up the double wall top that I had purchased from him. He noticed that my front passenger side truck tire was low so I stopped at the same TA truck stop to check my air and heard air leaving the tire as I was filling it. There was a big hole in the middle and just so happened to be at the top of the tire so I could see it. I think it is the same hole that got plugged a couple years ago during deer season (btw - the red GMC belongs to my neighbor that I am helping to move). So ended up putting on the spare and getting back on the road. Thanks Craig, you may have saved my life it that had finally blown going 70 down the highway after midnite Sunday morning. Got home about 1:30pm Sunday, just in time to shower (which was greatly needed - had told Craig to stay upwind of me) and sit down to some grilled hamburgers - we had all of the family over for Mother's day and my brother-in-law and oldest son ended up cooking since I was late. All in all another most excellent adventure. Got more stuff and met another great member and his family. Earl, be sure and tell Maggie (their daughter - who was a great hostess bringing pop and frozen ice pops) hi for me.

Thanks. PM me your mailing address - I finally found those lites you wanted, if you still need them. It is just the shell and pigtails, no lenses but you can get them aftermarket.
