The price is right too. I do have one question though, I have a '86 S-10 4X4 and I was looking under the hood, (just for kicks) LOL! Low and behold the proportioning valve looks identical to the one on the '71 I'm robbing all my disc/5 lug parts from. The bracket mounts too the booster as well. I was thinking of going to a wrecking yard and just snatching one off a S truck?? Anyone done this?

I went back to your original post and the last poster may have hit it on the head about the booster being bad. I would be tempted to take it back and tell them it is bad and swap it. Maybe someone else will chime in here about using a vacuum gauge to check for fluctuation while hitting the brakes. I don't think the valve is causing your problem with the hard pedal no brakes unless the light still refuses to go out after you reset it.

thanks i went back to the other post and read the comments and i do believe it is the prop valve so im going to try and reset it tomorrow and see what happens
