Stock Hood or Cowl Induction?

Well, its time to work on the hood for the 71,so now is the time to decide on a cowl hood or not,so I need some opinions.
Here is some pics of the truck now(before paint and body work) and some pics of member 71Blksuper's truck which is nearly a twin to mine except for the color and a few details....
*Note, the swan isnt for sale but no it wont go on the truck after its done.
His truck...

Cowl hoods look better on 67-68's than on 69-72's.

Re: Stock Hood or Cowl Induction?

I personnally like the stock hoods on the 69-72's ( the leading edge is to tall for my taste's. I agree the 67-68's look better with a cowl hood, more aggressive

Re: Stock Hood or Cowl Induction?

I guess I'm the opposite...I like the cowl hood on anything other than a 67 or 68. To me the 67/68 looks best with the stock hood. JMHO.

Re: Stock Hood or Cowl Induction?

I agree with you,ChevyDude. The sloped 67/68 hood looks great as is and gives a lower look. The cowl looks like it comes off the front edge. The boxy 69/72 hood is flat up top and sets the cowl induction off.Gives it more "shape".

Re: Stock Hood or Cowl Induction?

I have a 72 and I say stock. My 98 had a cowl and I loved it but I think they only look good on 67-68 due to slope of hood.

Re: Stock Hood or Cowl Induction?

if youre going more getting the best perfornmance then id go cowl so you can get some more air to it, otherwise id probably go stock since the cowl is around on alot of different vehicles, but yet i like them both so its really up to you

i vote for keeping the swan to

Re: Stock Hood or Cowl Induction?

Why not be different and figure out how to make it functional like '70 Chevelle SS cowl hood? Just an idea.

Re: Stock Hood or Cowl Induction?

Stock trucks, especially two tone cheyennes, etc look better with original hoods...
BUT
Modified trucks definitely look better with the cowl hoods.
There, I said it and I am glad...
