Gear sets/Carrier Series?

I have a series 3 posi carrier for my truck. I would like to use 3.73 gears with it. Summit racing has a set of 3.73 gears for use in a series 3 carrier. My question is has anybody used them before and what are the pros/cons to using them.

Here is a link:

Is there anything I should know about using them. Any good or bad experiences.

Thanks

Jason

Re: Gear sets/Carrier Series?

I have not heard anything bad about Motive Gear. My dad put some in a Monte and was happy with them.

I had a set of Richmond 3:08s that I bought from Jegs, installed by a guy out in Aurora Colorado (Western Drivetrain). They were quiet for a while but now have a whine in them at certain speeds. Bill at Western warned me that Richmonds are noisy....he was right. He does not like Richmond. He recommends GM parts (if you can find them) or US Gear. That's his opinon....guess I'll find out since I just bought a set of 3:73 US Gears for him to install soon. I'll let you know how they work out. I have a 3 series carrier too. I guess the gears are thicker for a 3 series carrier.
