Column Shift

In my '68 I have what appears to be the column for a three on the tree. Now I have a 4L60 and was wondering if I could still use this column with that transmission or do i have to drop $500+ on a new column or find a decent one in a junkyard?

Re: Column Shift

I don't believe the three on the tree column will work as it does not have detents for the shift positions. My thought would be to get a good used auto column and go with it.

Re: Column Shift

You could make it work but for safety reasons I would look for an auto column out of a truck or van.

Re: Column Shift

You can probably find a good auto column on the parts borad for under $50 or $75, or a van tilt for under $200. Check eBay too if you can't find one here.

**Edit: Here is one that I found on the parts board. Column, crossmember, and all the goodies -
