timing

I have a mild 355 (330hp) I am getting ready to swap dizzys in it. I checked my advance now and it is like at 20 deg BTDC seems really high starts fine and runs good. When I install new dist. should I try and lower that or go with close to the same? Also not sure if the timeing pointer is correct but have no reason to doubt it.

Thanks
