Grafting a late model tailgate

Anyone put a 90's tailgate on a 67-72 truck? Can it be done without to much trouble? I have a nice 91 gate that I really like and would like to see what it would look like on my 71 GMC long fleet. Any pics of this?

The 90's gate has a significant bow and the 67-72 gate is pretty well flat. I don't think it'll look real good but here's a bump for ya anyhow.

Re: Grafting a late model tailgate

I think you should try it.At least mock it up.That way you can see what it would take and how it would look. Also it might give us another option over the repops everyone has problems with.

Re: Grafting a late model tailgate

Here is a tech faq that might help you out on installation. I've done this mod and it worked well. It is about replacing the metal support straps with cable.
