Re: well what do you think about this one?
Wow!Bucket seats,console,a/c,big block...are you going to toss the camper, shorten the frame, slap some 1/2t axles, and search the world for a good shortbed?Or,have a truly cool and awesome RV?I`ve been a GM camper fan for a long time.Only had a slide-in and a frame-mount that had the camper scrapped and I made a work truck from it.I really need one of those, too.Have fun.

Re: well what do you think about this one?
You might be surprised to know that the camper probably came from the factory. I had a 68 GMC custom camper that I got from the 2nd owner. It has a 396/TH400 truck with tach dash, posi and tons of relays. I had all the original paperwork and back then you could order your truck with a camper from the dealer.

I'd love to get one of these & turn it into an old school car hauler (ramps on the back & all that)

What is that gauge where the tach goes? I've never seen that before.

Re: well what do you think about this one?
That motor runs really good in that one. I took it for a test drive. Nice suspension too. This one even had 1 tow hook on the front.

Re: well what do you think about this one?
How you gettin' it to AZ? Coming to get yourself? If so let me know cause you will not be too far from where I am when you go up I-5... I would like to check it out and meet yet another board member.
BTW I have been known to store a rig or two for those in need if you need that to happen. I have the space. Just can't keep it too long or the 'ol lady might get cranky (nobody wants that!)

Re: well what do you think about this one?
I think it`s a shame to see these campers getting scrapped to make utility vehicles. It`s one thing if it`s really shot. But,these are awesome classy RVs that will give as many,if not more, grins and thumbs up as any other form of 67/72.

Re: well what do you think about this one?
Thats how my 1ton started off. The camper was rotten so it ended up a flatbed with a dump.

Re: well what do you think about this one?
Yah, the camper was in Thousand Oaks at the time I checked it out. The guy didn't know anything about it since it was his fathers. He even thought it had a small block in it and apparently that is what he was telling people that called on it. I believe that small gauge in the dash was a mini tach, if I remember correctly. The motor was really strong and with the new m/c the brakes worked real good. The camper needed some work. I told him to get a mattress for the bed to make it look better since he was having trouble selling it and to stop telling people it had a small block in it! But you can't blame him, he is a FORD guy.
