Everyone has their opinion. I like you prefer the 69/70 grills over the others.

Re: 69 - 70 front grills
All I know is, I've been trying to sell a complete, nearly rust free 69/70 front clip for a month now.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...51#post2166951 If it had been a 67/68, I could have sold it 10 times already for twice as much. Simple economics I guess, supply and DEMAND. Right now the 67/68 is the look most people are going for. I'm sure that will change in a year or so, it always does. R

Re: 69 - 70 front grills
I think it`s the rear grille that they`re referring to.Seriously, out of three general designs there has to be a favorite, least popular, and the monkey in the middle.Anyone that says any of these grilles is ugly probably has Ford blood pumping. It wasn`t long ago people were saying the`72s were the one to have, not even a`71.I always liked the`71 better because it didn`t have the modern sign of the future molded plastic door panels.Other than that, they look the same.At this time the 69/70 was the second choice with 67/68 least desireable. That`s right!People were walking past them for the "newer" looking trucks.I always secretly had a thing for the steelie fronts on the 67/68s.

Re: 69 - 70 front grills
To me, a grill just can't get any better than a 69-70, course having a 69 and 70 does make me a little impartial

Re: 69 - 70 front grills
I'v only liked 69-70 and 71-72 grills.Of course, thats because my trucks are 4wd.I currently have the correct grill for the correct year on my trucks.Although,If I can find a correct 1970 inner grill I would get a good condition 69-70 outer and make the 71 look like a 70.I dont much care for the 69 style inner grill. On the other hand,I'v been collecting un broke 71-72 style grills for awhile and as a matter of fact, just got another yesterday For the 2wds though,I prefer 67-68 style grills but if the person wants to keep the correct style for their truck, that dont bother me.I'd rather have any 67-72 grill as opposed to having a blue oval Hell,I'd drive the truck with just a core support, fenders, and hood rather than have a FORD

Re: 69 - 70 front grills
The black plastic inserts behind the grill.
I can't remember which year was which, but one was horizontal slats and the other was horizontal and vertical.

Re: 69 - 70 front grills
Don't confuse my quote as meaning undesirable. In my experience with 67-72 trucks, the 69-70 seem to be the least desired. This is only a comparison within these trucks. I also have a 70 swb stepside. With that I received an extra grill and there is nobody interested in the grill. I will keep it as a spare. You can call it a bunch of BS but that is my experience.

Re: 69 - 70 front grills
I always thought 67 GMC grill was the best ever.....68 is right behind that. I like the looks of the four headlamps. For the Chevys I actually think 69-70 looks best, but heck who's to say whats cool.....except you!

Re: 69 - 70 front grills
IMO,the 70 style looks the better of the 2...Notice the inner grill pattern

Re: 69 - 70 front grills
That's the one I like the most too (of the 69-70), so the horizontal only slats are for the 70... cool
Of course, I think 67's rock the most.

Re: 69 - 70 front grills
Well I guess this could end up like a CHEVY vs. ford thing. Everyone has their own opinion. I would be looking for a new 69 grill in the near future because the PO painted mine. But now that I have seen the 70 insert I need to look for one of those also.

Re: 69 - 70 front grills
Your only option for the 70 inner grill pattern is a used one. They aren't reproduced.Only the 69 inner grill style.Good luck finding a good one.
