Of course if you don't sell or trade or try to register your truck out of state, you can probably drive it with anything on your vin tag...but Yellow Cheyenne has it exactly right. Our state inspects incoming vehicles for altered vin tags. Lots of hassle. So if you can, put it back on with hex head rivets...they are stainless. The only ones I knew of for sale, were hand built by a guy with ads in Hemmings...$80 for four and a discount on several sets. I don't see his ad any more! Hmmmmmmmm.
