What did you get done? 06/24

I spent the weekend running service calls. I got a lead on a 73-80 front clip, but wasn't able to go check it out. Hopefully it will still be there next week.

What did you get done?

Re: What did you get done? 07/24

My 77 started running extremely rough and was really down on power. After going through the ignition I found that cylinder #4 was still dead. I pulled the valve cover on that side and found the intake rocker laying off to the side and the nut on the exhaust rocker backed off as well. Got some new rocker nuts and replaced ones that felt like they had lost their locking power and adjusted all the valves.

In the process of all this I removed the beastly Harrisson log compressor and associated lines. There was no way I could have adjusted the valves with it there and the system had almost no R12 left in it. So it looks like the serpentine setup and R134A deal is something I'm committed to, but I think it's going to be the best choice.

Re: What did you get done? 07/24

i finished off my rear tires. And bought two new ones, they werent going to pass anyway so thought id have my fun. the new tires are just like the front the bfgoodwrench allterrain t/a. had them before and they did great but these are the ko my old ones were before the ko was added hopefully all will still be good with them cause 246 for 2 tires is quite a bit. My front ones are good about 50% left but id like to het two more for backups. Other then that i learn how much manual steering is cant keep the belt on the pulley so iv been doing old school for about a week now.

had no other issues didnt get to was the truck before show but i did get three center caps for free of of my buddies van (hes looking for the other) but cause i felt as if i should give him something back i gave him the light for in his grill his were cracked.

Re: What did you get done? 07/24

I got all my Moser parts in the rear end, got some new brakes, all I have left is to bleed them and Im ready. I test drove it a couple times, and aside from needing more timing advance it runs very well.

Re: What did you get done? 06/24

I got a few things done this weekend. i managed to get the paint looking how i wanted after a couple weeks of cutting n' buffing. i ordered new miscellaneous parts like done light lens, rear bumper license plate holder and light, new wing window hardware and headlight trim.

i also majorly scored on craigslist Saturday when i picked up a set of z24 wheels in Tigard for 150 dollars for my daily driver.

here are some pics to entertain yourselves. Can anyone tell what i did to my rear lights?

Re: What did you get done? 06/24

I worked Sat & then gave the 74 a thorough brake inspection. Looks like it's getting a brake job in a couple of weeks since the rear wheel cylinders are leaking & the front pads are @ 50% service life.

I played around w/the blazer tank swap on my 68 earlier today then got frustrated so I called it quits. I'm trying to get the tank inlet 'flange' off the tank so I can modify it. It's supposed to be soldered in place but I've heated it until almost cherry red & can't get it to budge .

Re: What did you get done? 06/24

I put sound deadner (b-quiet) in the cab of my 70. Put the gas tank in the cab. Changed the oil in my 96 (daily driver). Had problem getting the oil filter and plug out. Last time I take it to walmart to get serviced. I went to move some plug wires and must have put my hand on my heater hose where it goes in the intake. It broke off and now my daily driver is down. Hopefully tomarrow will be better. Have to spend the day finding someone to fix it.

Re: What did you get done? 06/24

Dropped a donor 350 into my 86 silverado 2WD SWB to replace the old tired 305. Got it all done but didn't get to hear it run. Cracked the fuel pump somehow during removal from the old truck or installation in this one. Saw gas spewing and quit crankin. Maybe Wednesday I'll get to hear it.

Re: What did you get done? 06/24

Fri: New tires.
Installed "step bumper" type reese hitch reciever on the 77 p/up

Sat: Hauled the Nova (see avatar) to the track w/ the old girl just for kix.
Made 5 rounds in the race.

Sun: Dug up my old Craiger S/S's (2-sets) at the 'rents, and brought em back to the house for possible installation on something.
Hauled washer/dryer out to Bro-N-Law's (60 mi trip)... 13.1 mpg on that deal. (70-80 mph, w/ some heavy city traffic (Raleigh) included) <-- wasn't sure what to expect from the 454, no OD, etc.

Each Day: Had fun;
I'll call it a succesful w/e
