This a good or bad idea????
I was thinking about trying aluminum/chrome tape to do the headliner trim in. I don't know how well it sticks, but I figure it will look more like chrome than the idea of painting it aluminum because I have yet to find a chrome spray can that came close. You guys think this would be a good idea. I mean I could try it and post some pics afterwards. I figure I will just cut it and piece it together really neat. Anyways, I wouldn't mind it if someone gave me their 2 cents on it, or if someone tried it if it worked at all???? Thanks, trevor

If you do it very cleanly it will certainly look better than chrome in a can. I'd say go for it.

I think your going to have a hard time getting it smooth but it is worth a try. If it doesn't work, you can remove it and then try painting it. Make sure you post a picture of the results.

Try Dupli-Color Instant chrome paint. It's made for bumpers, trim, and grilles.

Yeah, once the tape is on there, you will destroy the trim trying to remove it.
I would not even bother with the paint...it is all silver. There is no chrome in a can. You could go a differant route and paint the trim the same color as the headliner...or black. Black goes with everything. |
