This is how to lift a cab...
Just stick a cheap import hoist on the back of your truck and put a real long arm on it...and then look out because it will break every poor cold weld on it!!!
This poor thing has been broken, bent, reinforced and had a bigger base added to make it work. We take the attitude, "treat it like it is always going to break again". ...Oh, and those goofy birds are of no help at all. |

Been there, done that. Not looking forward to doing it again. Well ok, I didn't have any fine feathered assistants.
Looks like a pretty decent AC cab too. Last edited by Spanky_Pete; 07-02-2007 at 02:05 PM. |

Re: This is how to lift a cab...
You've got Guinea fowl? I hate those racket making pains in the butt! My uncle always had some and they were always in our yard, waking me up in the morning. They're good watch dogs, but useless otherwise.

Re: This is how to lift a cab...
That`ll do!!It gets you the right height.I`ve used mine on the floor to get a cab off a trailer.IIRC,the back of the cab was toward the tower and I let it down to rest on the legs.I rolled it into place and set 6x6 blocks under it.done!
Frank,I know you have one of everything, nice flatbed.Do you have a 67-72 chicken hauler?

The birds are there for lift assistance if you can get them to flap their wings hard enough!

Re: This is how to lift a cab...
10,000 ways to lift a cab, choose one.
Not as easy getting it back on as it is getting it off. Here´s how I did mine.

Re: This is how to lift a cab...
Two (2) small chain hoists and rafter supports.
Also, what to do after it's off. |
